Profiles placed using a path element are associated with their host properties, the detatch profile tool ungroups the selected profile from the host allowing it to be manipulated as an independent object.

1. Select (Detatch Profile from Host ).
2. Locate the profile form in the view and select one that was placed by path. A single profile needs to be selected with data point by clicking on the profile segment.
   Tip: If you have a set of profiles selected, the tool will deselect them and then prompt you to select a single profile.
3. Click in the view to accept the data point to detach the profile or right click to reject to cancel. The profile segment will be ungrouped from its host and now treated as an independent object to manipulate.
